What is TANCET MBA Exam?
The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test is known as TANCET. It is an annual entrance exam. On behalf of the Tamil Nadu government the Anna University Chennai administers the entrance exam. The TANCET examination is conducted for students who want to join MBA and MCA courses in colleges and universities in Tamil Nadu.
The TANCET test is moderately challenging. The TANCET exam is administered on paper rather than a computer. Every year, approximately 33,000 students register for the TANCET MBA entrance exam in 2026. Students from other states are also eligible to sit for the TANCET exam. TANCET Eligibility Criteria 2026- Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be a graduate of any recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks in their graduation for candidates belonging to the general category.
If the applicant is in the final year of graduation they may also apply but the result should be declared before the date fixed by the university/institution.
If a provisionally admitted student fails to secure the marks in the future, admission will be cancelled.
Applicants from any state in India can sit for the TANCET exam but the conditions will be set by the college they wish to join.

TANCET 2026 Exam Syllabus?
Twenty questions based on tables, pie charts, graphs and comparative statistics will comprise the analysis of business situations. A short paragraph is given where a business situation is described. You need to analyse it and answer the questions.
Reading Comprehension will be for 20 questions based on short reading passages. The topic can be anything from current affairs to literature to general/abstract types. You need to understand it and answer the questions.
Twenty questions on arithmetic, algebra, geometry, the number system, modern maths, and other topics will be included in the quantitative ability test. Class 12 and graduation will be the levels.
Data Sufficiency of 20 questions, where you are given Pie Charts, Line Graphs, Bar Graphs, and Tables and you are required to judge whether the given data is sufficient to solve a question based on your knowledge of math.
You must complete the tancet 20-question English Usage (General English) test to gauge your proficiency with written English.
