The date for the XAT 2027 exam is supposed to be 3rd January 2027. It will be declared by XLRI Jamshedpur within the second week of July 2026 along with the opening of the XAT 2027 registration procedure. Candidates can fill out the application form for the exam online through xatonline.in portal. On 4 January 2026, the XAT 2026 exam was administered.

Every year, over one lakh students take the XAT entrance examination, which makes it one of the most popular MBA entrance tests in the country. XAT 2027 examination will be organised in computer-based test mode in over 70 exam centres in India.

In the XAT 2027 exam, a total of 95 questions will appear from topics like Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Aptitude & General Knowledge.

What is the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)?

XLRI Jamshedpur administers the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), a national-level MBA entrance test for admission to its MBA Business Management and MBA Human Resource Management programs. Apart from XLRI Jamshedpur, XAT test results are also accepted by more than 150 institutes as well as almost 600 business schools in India that participate in the XAT exam. After the XAT exam, shortlisted candidates have to appear for further selection rounds such as Essay Writing and Personal Interview (PI) for final MBA admission.

• Candidates must have completed at least three years of study toward a bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited university. 

• Even final-year students can apply for XAT 2027. 

• Although there is no minimum score for appearing in XAT 2027, to apply for an MBA you need a minimum of 50% marks (for the general category) or 45% (for reserved categories) at graduation.

• No age limit for the XAT exam 2027. Anyone can take the exam.

XAT registration process 2027 is likely to start from July 2026 and will go on until December 2026. Aspirants who want to appear in the XAT exam need to register themselves via the official website of XAT i.e. xatonline.in.

How to Fill XAT Application Form 2027?

Follow the given steps to fill out the application form for XAT 2027 - 

• First go to the official website of XAT xatonline.in. 

• Next, select the "New Registration" option.

• To make an account, fill out all the required fields.

• Your registered email address will receive a unique ID and link after your registration is complete.

• To validate your XAT account, click the link.

• Return to the XAT home page and click on the “Login” button.

• Provide the registered email ID and password to log in and fill the application form for the XAT 2027 entrance exam.

• Carefully complete the XAT 2027 application form with all the necessary information.

• Check all the data provided before the final submission.

• Pay the registration fee of ₹2,200 for the XAT 2027 exam through the following methods - Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, or Net Banking.

Students who intend to pursue a course at XLRI Jamshedpur shall pay an extra amount of ₹200.

Candidates may choose up to six XAT test centre locations while completing the application.  In general, students are allocated the test centre according to their first city preference. However, if the number of available seats is less than the number of applicants then students will be allocated their second-preference city centre. Only the XAT 2027 entrance card will have final information regarding the designated testing location.

Candidates can use the given instructions below to download their Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2027 admit card - 

• Visit xatonline.in the official XAT exam website.

• Select the "Download Admit Card" option.

• Click Login after entering your DOB and XAT User ID.

• Go to the Admit Card section on the dashboard.

The candidates taking XAT 2027 should carry the following documents to the examination centre -

XAT 2027 Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates should strictly adhere to all the instructions provided in the admit card for XAT 2027. Some of the crucial instructions for the XAT exam day are provided below -

• Carry two printouts of the XAT 2027 admit card to the test centre.

• The digital format of the admit card or ID proof will not be accepted by the test centre. Only hard copy will be considered.

• Arrive at the test centre one hour in advance of the time reported in the admit card.

• Use of electronic gadgets like mobile phones, watches, calculators etc is not allowed in the exam hall.

• Do not bring any unnecessary stationery. Candidates can bring only a ballpoint pen in blue or black colour.

• Do not bring bags or any edible items to the exam centre.

• Dress according to the rules provided in your XAT admit card.

XAT Admission Process 2027

As soon as the XAT 2027 exam results are declared the admission procedure starts for XLRI and other institutions participating in the process. Shortlisting for further procedures is done only for candidates who meet the XAT cutoff.

Phase 1 - Shortlisting Following XAT Exam

Once the XAT 2027 result is declared, the candidates are shortlisted based on XAT scores for the further stages of Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) and Analytical Essay Writing (AEW).
