The revised PGDM program will feature block weeks, communication clinics, core course labs and continuous evaluation methods instead of traditional end-term exams for several subjects.

IMI said students will begin working on real industry projects and business challenges right from the first term itself. The institute plans to replace regular classroom case studies with practical problem-solving activities.

Suresh Ramanathan, CEO of IMI, said management education must evolve rapidly to match industry changes. He stated that business schools should not only respond to industry trends but also anticipate and shape them.

He added that the new career-focused and industry-oriented curriculum is designed to prepare students with practical decision-making, adaptability and workplace skills from day one.

Ramanathan also urged students to stay curious and develop critical thinking while using AI tools. He said that in today’s world, success depends not only on getting answers from AI but also on asking meaningful and deeper questions.

She explained that AI itself may not replace jobs but people who are better at using AI could outperform others. Singh also noted that technology and AI are expected to create new job opportunities, although job roles and skill expectations will continue to evolve.
