Sambalpur, May 12, 2026: Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur has opened applications for the second batch of its four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) programs for the academic session 2026. The institute is offering two undergraduate programs - BS in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence and BS in Management & Public Policy - designed in line with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The programs aim to prepare students for emerging career opportunities by combining technical expertise with managerial and analytical skills. The curriculum integrates subjects such as data science, artificial intelligence, management, public policy, sustainability, analytics, operations and marketing to create a multidisciplinary learning environment.

The programs follow an experiential learning model, supported by AI-enabled classrooms, case-based teaching methods, industrial collaborations, workshops led by industry experts and practical applications. Students will also undertake corporate internships of four weeks and social internships of two weeks to gain practical industry and societal exposure.
Commenting on the launch, Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur, said, These BS programs are designed to move beyond conventional theoretical education and focus on practical application - based learning. Through critical thinking, design-based learning, practical simulations and personal branding, students will develop the skills needed to solve real-world problems and succeed in future careers.

Eligibility and Admission Process
BS in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
Admission based on JEE (Main) 2026 scores
Minimum 60 per cent marks in Class 12 (55 per cent for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/EWS candidates)
BS in Management and Public Policy
Admission based on IPMAT 2026 scores conducted by IIM Indore
Minimum 60 per cent marks in Class 12 (55 per cent for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/EWS candidates)
Personal Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for an online personal interview.
Program Fee
The total program fee for both four-year undergraduate courses is approximately ₹25 lakh for eight semesters, as mentioned on the official website and subject to revision.
