Candidates who are applying for both the full-time and part-time Ph.D. programs are required to fill in the application form online and submit the same along with the application fee, which is ₹ 25,00. For the reserved category (SC/ST/PwD), ₹1250, and foreign nationals, it is US$ 120/₹ 8,500. The last date to apply for international candidates is Mar 20, 2025.

Indian Scholars
Indian Full-Time Ph.D scholars don’t have to pay the program fee however, they have to pay the following fee mentioned in the table below:
The total program fee for part-time Ph.D scholars is ₹ 5.10 Lakhs payable to IIFT as specified below in the table.

Note *- For the reserved category, there will be a relaxation of 50% in the program fee.
Admission criteria
Candidates with a qualified UGC JRF in June 2023 and December 2023 can apply for the Ph.D. program.
Candidates with a qualified UGC NET or JRF in June 2024 and December 2024 are eligible to apply under three categories:
Category 1:
admission to the Ph.D. with JRF
Assistant Professor appointed
Category 2:
admission to the Ph.D. without JRF
appointment as Assistant Professor
Category 3:
Eligible for admission to Ph.D. Programme only and not for the award of JRF or appointment as Assistant Professor.
Selection Procedure
The selection procedure for the candidates will be entirely based on the number of available seats for the Ph.D program.
The weightage for the selection process will be:
UGC Net scores basis - 70%
Performance in the interview- 30%.
