FAQs

To apply to XLRI's PGDM in Business Management one has to take the XAT exam or provide their GMAT score. The application should be filled in online via the official website of XLRI (xlri.ac.in). One can apply for multiple XLRI programs with a single application form.

The process starts with the submission of the online application form. Next, the candidates have to appear for the XAT exam. After the XAT results, XLRI determines a cutoff score and shortlists candidates equal to or above it. Shortlisted candidates are further invited for the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. Final selection is done based on total performance in the entrance test, GD/PI, academic background, work experience and other factors such as extracurricular activities.

XLRI assigns 60% weightage to the XAT score, 25% to GD and PI performance and the rest 15% based on other considerations like academic record, work experience, essay writing, general awareness and video responses.

For male engineers the cut-off is usually 96 percentile. For female engineers it is 91 percentile. Similar cut-offs are there for non-engineers with a little more relaxed cut-off for females.

To enrol in XIMB, candidates must appear for one of the recognised entrance tests such as XAT, CAT or GMAT. If appearing for these is not possible, they may appear for XIM University's own test named XGMT. Along with the registration for one of these tests, candidates must also submit a separate application form for XIM University at xim.edu.in and pay the fee.

In the last couple of years the minimum XAT percentile has been constant at about 90 to 91 percentile to join the MBA-BM program at XIMB.

Candidates who are interested in admission at IMT Ghaziabad will need to complete form online on the IMT admissions website. The application entails registering, providing their academic, personal and test score information (CAT, XAT or GMAT) and paying an application fee of ₹3500.

For consideration candidates must have a good academic record i.e. consistent performance throughout 10th, 12th and graduation. There must be a valid score in CAT, XAT or GMAT. Work experience is not mandatory but it can enhance the candidate's chances at shortlisting.

To be shortlisted by IMT Ghaziabad the usual XAT percentile required is close to 90. This cutoff has been maintained for the past years.
