The syllabus for CAT is designed by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) which conducts the exam. It is quite vast and requires consistent study and preparation. Since the questions are usually tough scoring high can be challenging without proper practice.

The CAT 2025 exam date is November 30, so it’s a good idea to finish the syllabus by August. This gives you extra time for mock tests, revision and strengthening weak areas.

The CAT syllabus is prepared by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) which are also the testing authority for the examination.

The CAT test is 120 minutes (2 hours) long with each section taking 40 minutes. Additional time is provided to PwD candidates.

No, the sequence is fixed in CAT. You need to try each section in the prescribed order within the time limit.

Physical calculators are prohibited but an on-screen calculator is available.

The base syllabus does not alter though the quantity and nature of questions may shift slightly in every year's CAT exam.
